AMCAT Syllabus, Question Paper and Exam Pattern

AMCAT is employability assessment test conducted by Aspiring Minds across India. It provide the perfect opportunity to job seekers who wants to work in Top MNC Companies like Accenture, Cognizant, MindTree etc. It is AMCAT is Computer Adaptive test. Based on your AMCAT score company, companies will recruit you or you may directly apply for jobs in AMCAT after writing the exam.

AMCAT has three compulsory modules and two optional modules. In compulsory module, it consists of Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning and English. You can choose two optional modules among Computer Programming, Electronics and Semiconductors, Computer Science, Electrical and many other modules which you can find on its website. Recently Aspiring Minds added new compulsory module called Aspiring Minds Personality Inventor and it is a for all the graduates.

Every candidate must attempt compulsory module without fail. If you want attempt other core modules like computer science, Electronics, Electrics etc. It is up to you.

1. English:

There are 25 questions with 25 minutes of duration for this module: The complete syllabus for English is :

2. Quantitative Ability

This module is slightly different for engineering and non-engineering graduates. There are 25 (for Engineering Graduates) with duration of 35 minutes and 16 (for MBA and General Graduates) with duration of 16 minutes.

3. Logical Ability

Logical Ability module has 24 questions with the duration of 35 minutes.

Important Point and Guidelines:

  • Each module has 900 marks
  • Question cannot be skipped(i.e. to go to the next question, you need to answer and proceed).
  • There is no Negative Marking(Though wrong answers will decrease your percentile).
  • There is minimum of 16 question to be attempted in order to generate the score in each module.
  • Every modules is compulsory to attend(though you have optional module)
  • It is suggested to choose Computer Programming for better chances of getting job in IT field.
  • All questions are Multiple Choice Questions

Optional modules are not compulsory. You may choose two modules or one module which depend upon you. Though you can also choose none in the optional modules. But it is recommended to choose Computer Programming modules to get job in software field. And you may select other optional module related to you core field in engineering.

You cannot skip a question and go back to attempt another question. You need to answer each question to proceed to the next question.
Time management is the key to get succeed in AMCAT. Each module will have its own time limit. So, you will get 1 – 2 minutes for solving each questions. As there is no calculators are allowed during the exam, you need to be very quick in solving math’s.

There is no separate syllabus for different branches of Engineering and degree graduates. Though in optional modules, you can choose your core subjects but is not mandatory. If you did not score good percentile at first attempt you may attempt once again after three months.
