TCS Online Test Pattern, Syllabus and Interview Process

Recently TCS online test pattern has been changed. The latest exam pattern for the TCS is provided will be discussed in details. The syllabus for TCS exam is almost similar with other IT companies like Infosys, Cognizant etc.

Never thinks that if you have successfully cleared one of the round and you will surely succeed remaining rounds. Take every round seriously, because if you won’t qualify any of the ones, you will be eliminated. So work hard and be prepared if you appearing for TCS online test.

No. of Rounds in TCS Selection Process:

  1. Online Test (Verbal and Analytical Ability)
  2. Technical Rounds
  3. HR Round

The rounds may vary depending upon the number of candidate appearing for the test.

1. Online Test (Verbal Ability and Analytical Ability):

Total duration of test is 90 minutes, where 10 minutes(1 question) is allocated for verbal ability and remaining 80 minutes for analytical ability(30 questions).

Note: Always read the instruction, because the rule may change and new restriction may be added. So have a quick glance.

Verbal Ability: It consists of email writing more than 50 words.If you not write more than 50 words it will not be evaluated. The number of words should be ~70-80 words. It is compulsory to use the outline words.

It is very tough to crack the verbal ability because your spelling, grammar and vocabulary is checked by the computer program. It is better to write the emails in the as per the outline phrases.

Example: As a Project Leader, write an email to your customer, Mr. Gill Roy, explaining delay to the project. Sign the email as Maria.

Outline:

Payment processing system – schedule – Tenth May(Friday) – unexpected power outage – three days – overall – seven days – includes recovery of lost work – will not recur

Note: If your accuracy is below 65~75%, you may be disqualify this section. It is better to have an accuracy of about 80%. Have a look at formal email writing.

Analytical Ability: This section consists of 30 questions and the time duration is 80 minutes. There are few question which has higher marks from the rest of the question.

Note: It has Negative marks for each wrong answers of 1/3, so be aware about it and don’t attempt all the question.

2. Technical Round:

The majority of the question, in this round will be asked from your academics, regarding projects, details discussion on your technical ability and communication skills. Some of the technical questions are given below:

  • Tell about yourself?
  • Basic programming question like find  prime number, database connection, etc.
  • Database and  SQL concepts like normalization, difference between DBMS and RDBMS etc. ,
  • Software developments, data structures etc.
  • Your role in project and how you have contributed etc.

3. HR Round:

Normally HR checks your communication skills, discusses about relocation etc. Some of the commonly asked HR questions are:

  • Tell about something yourself?
  • Why you want to join TCS?
  • Are you willing to relocate?
  • Are you flexible to work late night etc?
  • Where do you see yourself in next 5 years?
